Resolved Question: Does cerebral atrophy follow on from a stroke? Is it possible that the strokes happen back in 1996 whe?
In 1996 I had an allergic reaction and was admitted to casualty. Adrenaline was mistakenly injected into a vein in my wrist. I got a pain in the back of my head and the heart monitor alarmed. My blood pressure went to 240 over 120. I was given a heart scan, which proved to be ok. They then continued to inject the remaining adrenaline into my vein; again the heart monitor alarmed and the pain in the head returned. My blood pressure was normal before they gave me the adrenaline.
Before I left the casualty (3hrs later) I went to the toilet and found that there was blood in my urine.
After that I noticed that I was gaining fluid and my shirts were tight around my neck. I also had a dull pain in the back of my head in the same place I had felt the pain the night I was in causality.
I was diagnosed with cerebral atrophy some 4 years ago. And this year I have now been diagnosed with numerous ischemic strokes.
I had a head scan after the allergic reaction to rule out any small bleed. I was told that the scan was normal however the neurologist this year told me that the scan showed Cerebral Atrophy.
